Gosh, my mom is a terrible computer hog! She never lets me on here!

Anyways! I had a birthday while I was gone, I'm 7 now! I had a birthday party with my doggie friends at In-N-Out (My FAVORITE place to eat!) and I got all kinds of presents! My mom even made me a Birthday Cake!!!

Last month someone came to visit me! .... It was my Auntie Carolyn! Mom said something about her coming here for Disneyland, and a Cruise, but I know she came down to visit me!

Mom says she's very proud of me, instead of getting lazier as I age, I'm getting more active! I like to chase Tennis Balls now. I even run for them at the dog park! I've been playing with other dogs sometimes too! It's kinda fun... when i'm in the mood.

Some sadder news to report. Mom says if my ears don't get better by the end of the year, she's going to start fundraising for an ablation on my right ear. She says she doesn't want to do it, but she thinks it will make me feel better. It sounds a little scary, but my mom wouldn't do anything to hurt me.

I've been having a very fun summer! Bye For NOW!!!!!

Hi my name is Sophie, and I'm a rescued American Cocker Spaniel.

I adopted my mom on July 3rd 2007, from the Carson Animal Shelter, in Los Angeles. I was dirty, matted, and smelly, and mom said I looked pretty bad. She took me home, and cleaned me up, and now I live like the diva I was always supposed to be.

I love playing with my toys, and sometimes throw them at my mom, just to let her know I'm ready to play. She even brought me home stuffed toys, because she see's how happy they make me, but I'm only allowed to play with them under close supervision because I tear the stuffing out.... I thought that's what stuffed toys were for?!

I love chewing bones, and love food! If anybody drops something on the floor, it's MINE!

I'm learning that playing with other dogs is ok, and mom takes me to playdates on the weekend, so that I can spend time with other dogs... I like spending time with the humans better!

I've lost a lot of weight, and am feeling much better because of it! I can jump the baby gate now, and need to rest less during the day!

Weight Loss For Doggies!

For all those looking for weight loss for your doggies, here is what worked for Sophie!

Wellness Core Reduced Fat Formula 1/2 Cup 2x's a day mixed with a few big spoonfulls of my homemade veggie "stew"

Homemade Veggie Stew:
1. 6 lb bag of mixed veggies (I buy these at costco, but you can just buy a bunch of bags of veggies)
2. 1 large can pumpkin
3. 1/2 - 1 container plain non fat yogurt
4. Chicken broth (this is an optional ingredient, i use it for flavor)

Cook veggies in chicken broth
Puree/blender veggies
Mix in large bowl with pumpkin & yogurt
Plus salmon oil in food once a day

The reason for the ingredients not being exact is it depends on what type of consistency you want, i like Sophie's to be more "watery" so it lasts longer, and mixes with her dry food easier.

I bought those cheap containers at target, the ziploc ones, and filled 3 or 4 of them up, I put the one I'm using in the fridge, and freeze the rest, then take them out as needed.

This diet has also worked with the following foods:
